You’ll Always Be… My Sweet Little Girl

Oh Lesli,
This day has been coming for a while I’ve been thinking about it more and more You know what, I know I’m losing my little girl But it’s your time to walk thru that door
You might be taking on a different name You’ll have your own kids some day

But before we’re done dancing …there’s something I have to say…

You’ll always be… my sweet little girl.
I’ll always see… that good little personality

Even though your grown and have come into your own,
And oh you’ve come so far you’ll always be…my sweet little girl

We always tried to give you the important things in life
Like George Strait tickets good Bar B Que and a sense of what’s wrong and right
You always did the little things before we ever had to ask, Thank you for being so easy being your dad was never a task

You’ll always be… my sweet little girl. I’ll always see… that good little personality

Even though your grown and have come into your own,
And oh you’ve come so far you’ll always be…my sweet little girl I know he

He likes hunting and fishing: and he’s gotten you to like ‘em too
From what I’ve seen I won’t have to worry I know he’s gonna take care of you
As I look over and see your mom crying those tears of joy Just know that we love you and we’ll miss you even though we won’t be far cuz

You’ll always be… my sweet little girl. I’ll always see… that good little personality

Even though you're grown and have come into you're own, And oh you’ve come so far you’ll always be…my sweet little girl

Songnificance: Wedding Song for Father/Daughter Dance at Reception

Songimonial:
“The more I hear it the more I like it, it sounds great. Thanks a bunch! Won’t she be surprised”
--Mom Jennifer

“Everything Went Great! I danced with Lesli to the song as my dedication to her. She was totally shocked. I know it will mean even more to her when she returns from their honeymoon and she will be able to listen to the song and the lyrics in her own private time. Thanks for Everything! “
--Dad (Mark)

"Boy, was I surprised. The song came out so great and it was truly a special gift that I will have forever. I am so glad you sang about George Strait and bbq, because life wouldnt be complete without these 2, right? And I love the story about hunting and fishing and how Blake has made me like those things too. It really was perfect and I am so glad my parents decided to have my father/daughter dance "songified," it meant so much!! By the look in the pictures, I was definetly caught off guard. I was trying to listen to the story over the noise of everyone in the room.
Bryan, thanks so much for doing this, it is a keepsake that I can always listen to and a forever reminder of my childhood."

-Lesli, new bride

Songification Backstory: This song was written as a Father/Daughter Dance song. The father wanted a song that told her that he and her mom loved her very much and were going to miss her. The daughter loved George Strait and the father spoke proudly about getting her first George Strait Tickets, so that was worked in with a bit of humor.

Another interesting aspect of this process was the daughter was reportedly scrambling around the week before the wedding still trying to find the right song her and her father could dance to. Little did she know this was one about to be revealed. Well, she was absolutely shocked. So that was great to be part of that cool surprise. It’s cool to be able to help people get their true feelings out in a song.

On a different note, I was really excited to have one of the best musician’s I know “Erle McCan”, grace the track with his amazing guitar work. Thanks Erle for bringing it to life musically.
